Role Description:
We are looking for a Commercial Officer to join us.
In this role, you will be responsible for supporting commercial activities and services by identifying and implementing solutions to meet business needs and strategic objectives of the team.
Working with the Commercial team within our Surface Ships Business Unit supporting Combat Systems line of business.
Your contribution will ensure the best commercial outcomes for the Customer and the business whilst contributing to the support of the Australian Defence Forces.
Core Duties:
Assisting with the management and administration of bids and contracts
Supporting Procurement and Supply Chain colleagues in the preparation of sub-contract terms and conditions as required by role
Contributing to the development of commercial proposals for potential business and the commercial review of the full suite of proposal documents
Assisting in the provision of commercial elements for the Life Cycle Management and Request for Bid Approval process
Assisting in the preparation of draft quotations and detailed Agreements including but not limited to Non-Disclosure Agreements, Contract Change Proposals,



Technical Assistance Agreements, Service Level Agreements, etc., in accordance with policy and process
Drafting and managing ingoing and outgoing customer correspondence
Working with the internal legal team as required to ensure all contracts have the necessary legal input and governance
Being responsive to the needs and wants of the customer by understanding their requirements, through researched understanding, open discussion and candid clarification questions
Resolve customer queries and issues in areas of responsibility, escalating problems as appropriate
Support the Commercial Manager and other members of the team
About You:
Previous experience in a similar role or a role that provides understanding of business operations and governance
Flexible with a lean in approach
Team orientation with a high level of written and oral communication skills including the ability to communicate clearly with internal and external stakeholders of all levels and from a range of disciplines
A curious mind-set
An ability to work as part of a team or independently with little supervision and guidance and using your own experience, judgement and initiative
Adept at building and maintaining excellent relationships with internal and external stakeholders
Computer literacy, with intermediate knowledge of MS Suite.
Familiarity with tools like SharePoint and Oracle is desirable
Eligibility to obtain and maintain Government Security Clearance
