Permanent Full-time (average of 38 hours per week) The City of Rockingham is an award winning local government located 40km south of the Perth CBD and is known as the place where the coast comes to life.

In this role you will lead a dedicated team, responsible for the coordination of agendas and minutes, statutory compliance responsibilities, civic functions, and other key City documentation including policy, local laws etc.
Experience effectively manage a small teamDemonstrate the ability to interpret legislationSound research and analytical skills enabling interpretation of informationAbility to produce well-constructed and informative reports, pitched to a level appropriate for a busy local governmentStrong computer literacy, particularly in the Microsoft Office suite of products, intranet and web based softwareHigh level of time management and organisational skills
Previous experience in Local Government is desirable for this role, preferably in a governance or senior administration role.

Ability to understand relevant Acts and RegulationsDemonstrated ability to undertake research, problem solve complex issues, and develop clear and concise briefing notes and discussion papers with supporting recommendationsDemonstrated understanding of the Council decision making process, agendas and minutesHighly developed skills in people management
This position offers a salary from $111,967 to $119,224 per annum (dependent on skills and experience), and:
12% superannuation with the option to co-contribute up to a further 5%A variety of health and wellbeing programs including a physical health reimbursement subsidy payment of up to $200 per annum, free flu vaccinations, free skin cancer checks, mental health programs and Employee Assistance Provider (EAP) servicesFlexible working arrangements, including rostered days off and two additional paid days of absence per annumA culture of learning with training/development opportunities including paid study leave and study feesSalary packaging opportunities for motor vehicles, etc.
