About the Role
Reporting to the Workshop Manager, you will be responsible for leading and supervising the afternoon shift workshop team, ensuring the professional servicing and repair of our large fleet of Kenworth prime movers and tankers to the highest standard.
You will set the tone on afternoons.
That means keeping the team accountable, maintaining quality, hitting targets and making sure every truck that leaves the workshop is road ready.
Your Key Responsibilities
Lead, supervise and develop the afternoon shift workshop team.
Ensure all servicing and repairs are completed to company standards in a safe and efficient manner.
Plan and allocate work across the team to maximise productivity and meet daily targets.
Maintain accurate work order documentation and reporting.
Identify and report defects and ensure they are actioned promptly.
Drive a culture of quality, safety and accountability across the shift.
Support breakdown response when required.
Liaise with the Workshop Manager on shift handover and planning.
What We Are Looking For
Trade qualification in Heavy Vehicle Mechanics or equivalent.
Proven supervisory or team leader experience in a workshop environment.
Strong knowledge of Kenworth, Cummins engines and heavy vehicle systems.
A natural leader who gets the best out of people.
High attention to detail and a zero compromise approach to quality.
Strong communication and organisational skills.
Sound computer skills.
HR licence preferred but not essential.
