Purpose of the role
Reporting to the Executive Manager Finance, the Manager Finance is responsible for leading the day-to-day financial operations of Christian Homes Tasmania.
The role provides operational leadership to the Finance Team while overseeing financial reporting, management accounting, month-end processes and supporting sound financial decision-making across the organisation.
Key responsibilities include
Leading the day-to-day financial operations of Christian Homes Tasmania.
Managing month-end processes, management accounting and operational financial reporting.
Providing oversight of budgeting, cash flow management, financial analysis and operational finance activities.
Supporting the preparation of financial reports for the Leadership Team, Executive Team and Board.
Leading, mentoring and developing the Finance Team while fostering a positive, collaborative culture.
Acting as the first point of contact for the Finance Team, providing guidance, support and operational leadership.
Monitoring financial performance, identifying trends and recommending process improvements.
Supporting compliance, audit requirements,



funding reporting and continuous improvement initiatives.
Building effective working relationships across the organisation to support informed financial decision-making.
The successful candidate will demonstrate
A minimum of three years' operational accounting experience (five years preferred).
Strong operational finance experience, with demonstrated capability in month-end processing and management accounting.
Experience in operational financial management and delivering accurate financial reporting.
Proven ability to quickly learn new systems and adapt to changing business needs.
Leadership capability, with experience developing, mentoring and supporting team members.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the confidence to be the day-to-day port of call for the Finance Team.
Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to effectively manage competing priorities.
A collaborative approach with a commitment to continuous improvement and delivering high-quality financial outcomes.
Essential requirements
Minimum of three (3) to five (5) years' operational accounting experience
Bachelor of Business (Accounting) or equivalent tertiary qualification
Valid and satisfactory NDIS Worker Screening Check (with NDIS endorsement) or willingness to obtain
Valid Australian work entitlements
Valid Australian driver's license
Desirable
Experience within the Aged Care or Not for Profit sector
Experience with Inerva Accounting Software
CPA or CA qualification
