Human Resources Coordinator
Permanent full-time position

We are seeking a Human Resources Coordinator to join our People and Culture team.
This role coordinates operational HR activities, provides practical advice and support on employee relations matters, and contributes to the development and review of contemporary HR and industrial policies and procedures.
Working collaboratively across Council, the Human Resources Coordinator leads the team that supports our leaders and teams across every stage of the employee journey, helping employees feel valued, supported, and set up for success.
Key responsibilities as Human Resources Coordinator...
Lead the development, implementation and review of operational HR initiatives that support employee performance and Council's workforce planning priorities
Investigate employee grievances, as required, in accordance with relevant awards and Council requirements
Lead a small team to support the effective administration of recruitment and selection, employee terms and conditions, and exit processes
Ensure Council's HRIS systems are accurately maintained
Analyse employment data and prepare reports that allow informed decision making
Provide consistent, accurate and timely advice to leaders, employees and external stakeholders on HR-related matters
Consult appropriately on industrial relations matters to support compliance with legislation, Awards and Council policies,
while advocating in the best interests of Council and its employees
Assist with Human Resources projects as required.
What we offer...
Permanent full-time role, 35 hours per week
Commencing annual salary gross from $104,448 to $115,154
(salary is dependent on qualifications, skills and experience)
Annual performance-based progression prospect to earn up to $126,958
Plus 12% superannuation

What you'll need to be successful in the role...
You will have strong problem solving, negotiation and decision-making skills.
You will bring strong generalist HR experience, a sound knowledge of employment legislation and industrial instruments, and the ability to provide practical, trusted advice across a diverse organisation.
You will be a confident communicator and collaborative leader who can manage competing priorities, support positive workplace outcomes and contribute to the successful delivery of effective HR initiatives.
It's also essential that you have:
A degree majoring in Human Resources or a related discipline
4 years generalist Human Resources experience including employee lifecycle from recruitment to off-boarding
Experience supervising a small team and building collaborative working relationships
Demonstrated ability to interpret awards, agreements, employment contracts and related legislation
Experience drafting Human Resources policies and procedures in consultation with key stakeholders.
Strong analytical, written communication, interpersonal communication and group facilitation skills
Experience managing projects, including the ability to manage multiple complex priorities simultaneously.
Although not required, it would be beneficial to have:
Certificate IV in Training and Assessment
Experience working in a Local Government context.
