We're looking for a passionate and experienced Child Safety Officer to join our team in this newly created role, reporting directly to our Head of Safeguarding.
As our Child Safety Officer, you will work collaboratively with leaders across the organisation to ensure our policies, systems and practices align with the Education and Care Services National Law, Education and Care Services National Regulations, the National Quality Framework and the National Principles for Child Safe Organisations.
About the Role
As ourChild Safety Officer,you'll work alongside our Head of Safeguarding to strengthen child safety across our organisation.
This is a newly created role that offers the opportunity to influence how child safety is embedded into everyday practice.
You'll help ensure our systems, policies and practices support safe, inclusive and high-quality environments for children while meeting our legislative and regulatory obligations.
We're looking for someone who is passionate about creating child-safe organisations and enjoys building practical systems that support educators, leaders and children to thrive.
The scope of the role will evolve over time and will be shaped, in part, by the successful applicant's skills, experience and interests.
What You'll Be Doing
Working collaboratively across the organisation, you'll contribute to areas such as:
Strengthening organisational child safety systems and governance
Supporting compliance with the Education and Care Services National Law and National Regulations
Developing, reviewing and maintaining child safety policies, procedures and supporting resources
Undertaking child safety risk assessments and supporting risk management initiatives




Monitoring organisational compliance, including mandatory training and Working with Children Check requirements
Supporting leaders to embed child-safe practices across services
Researching legislative and regulatory changes and recommending improvements
Assisting with safeguarding projects and organisational initiatives led by the Head of Safeguarding
Promoting a culture where children's safety, best interests and rights are at the centre of decision-making
About You
We're looking for someone who is passionate about creating safe environments where children can thrive.
You may have experience in child safety, safeguarding, early childhood education, quality, compliance, governance, risk management or policy development.
Most importantly, you're collaborative, solutions-focused and committed to continuous improvement.

Essential Skills and Experience
Recent experience in Early Childhood Education and Care.
Knowledge of the Education and Care Services National Law and Regulations and the National Quality Framework.
Understanding of the National Principles for Child Safe Organisations and contemporary child-safe practices.
Experience developing, reviewing or implementing policies and procedures.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.




Ability to build and maintain positive working relationships.
High level of organisation and attention to detail.
Current driver's licence and own vehicle.
Current Working with Children Check valid for paid work.
CHCPRT025 (Identify & Report Children and Young People at Risk), or willingness to obtain.
Valid First Aid in an Education and Care Setting, including CPR, or willingness to obtain.
