This position has primary responsibility for the commercial and performance architecture of Visitor Services, leading the development of revenue generation strategies, pricing frameworks, yield management and commercial insights that support the financial sustainability of the directorate.
The role is accountable for maximising revenue outcomes while ensuring that commercial decisions are informed by cost, operational feasibility and service delivery considerations.
Reporting to the Director Visitor Services, the position plays a central role in shaping revenue strategy, business performance logic and data-driven decision making across Visitor Services.
Working in close partnership with the Manager Visitor Services – Business Operations, the role ensures that revenue initiatives, pricing models and commercial strategies are jointly developed, operationally viable and aligned with delivery capability, asset constraints and workforce capacity.
The role has direct responsibility for Reservations, accommodation sales performance and Visitor Services finance and administration support.
It provides leadership across the end-to-end pre-island commercial functions, including booking systems, pricing, distribution channels, demand forecasting and revenue performance analysis.
The position owns the development of commercial assumptions used in business planning and supports the Director Visitor Services to prioritise initiatives through robust financial, market and performance analysis.
Operating in a complex, high-volume visitor services environment, the role works collaboratively with the Manager Visitor Services – Business Operations and with internal stakeholders including Marketing, Infrastructure, Environment, Heritage and Parks teams to ensure that revenue opportunities are optimised without compromising visitor experience,
operational delivery or compliance obligations.
The role is also responsible for managing and overseeing designated commercial systems and vendors, and for working jointly with Business Operations to agree system changes that affect both revenue generation and operational delivery.
The position contributes to the development of Visitor Services plans and initiatives and is accountable for monitoring, analysing and reporting on revenue performance and commercial outcomes arising from approved initiatives.
It evaluates whether initiatives are delivering anticipated revenue benefits, pricing outcomes and return on investment, and provides insights and recommendations to inform continuous improvement and future decision making.
The role leads a team and promotes a culture of commercial discipline, analytical capability and collaboration, supporting Visitor Services' position as a leading revenue-generating and front-facing directorate of the Authority.
The successful applicant will be required to possess or obtain a current and satisfactory National Police Check prior to commencement.

Selection Criteria
Comprehensive knowledge of systems and processes supporting the end-to-end visitor journey, including pre-visit research, booking, sales, distribution channels and post-visit feedback,
with demonstrated ability to ensure these systems operate in an integrated, commercially effective and customer-focused manner.
Demonstrated experience leading and managing significant revenue-generating activities, preferably across visitor services, accommodation, reservations, hire services or comparable commercial environments, with accountability for revenue performance and customer outcomes.
Solid understanding of pricing, yield management and demand principles, with demonstrated experience applying these principles to optimise revenue outcomes, inform pricing decisions and enhance customer value.
Well-developed analytical, conceptual and communication skills, applied in a commercial or business operations environment, including the ability to interpret performance data and market insights and clearly communicate findings, issues and recommendations in both written and verbal form to a range of operational and senior stakeholders.
Proven leadership and people management capability, with experience building and leading high-performing teams, fostering a collaborative and inclusive culture and supporting capability development in commercial, analytical and systems-based functions.
Demonstrated capability in business and financial management, including developing business plans, contributing to budget development, monitoring performance against targets and providing insightful analysis to support decision making and continuous improvement.
