About the Role
Reporting to the Head of Proposals, you will work closely with Business Development, Application Engineers, Procurement and Project Delivery teams, subcontractors and suppliers to develop detailed cost estimates for water treatment projects using an in-house developed, excel based, comprehensive costing tool.
You will evaluate project requirements, develop internal labour and fabrication cost budgets, develop RFQs and evaluate responses from vendors and subcontractors, analyse pricing and risk, develop cashflows and contribute to winning bids that deliver value for our customers while supporting Osmoflo's continued growth.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare detailed project cost estimates for budget and firm-price proposals.
Review customer specifications, engineering documentation and bid requirements.
Coordinate and evaluate supplier and subcontractor quotations.
Develop procurement strategies and RFQs.
Build and maintain project cost databases and benchmarking tools.




Participate in bid reviews, risk assessments and pricing workshops.
Identify opportunities for cost optimisation and value engineering.
Support project handovers to delivery teams and capture lessons learned for continuous improvement.
Maintain strong relationships with suppliers, subcontractors and internal stakeholders.
About You
You are a commercially minded estimator who enjoys collaborating with technical teams and translating complex project requirements into accurate and competitive estimates.
Essential Experience & Skills5–10 years' experience in estimating projects involving structural, mechanical and electrical systems.
Experience estimating structural steel, pipework fabrication and electrical installation works.
Ability to interpret engineering documentation including PFDs, P&IDs;, Single Line Diagrams and technical specifications.
Very strong Microsoft Excel skills and proficient with Microsoft Office.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deadlines.
Ability to work both collaboratively and autonomously.
Current Australian driver's licence.
QualificationsDiploma or Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Process or Chemical Engineering.




Highly RegardedExperience within the water or wastewater industry.
Knowledge of membrane treatment technologies.
Design and construction experience within industrial or infrastructure projects.
