Join the collaborative and forward-thinking Mental Health Services in Innisfail at CHHHS and play a key role in improving health outcomes across regional, rural, and remote communities.
As the Psychologist you will be responsible for delivering evidence-based clinical services, including tele-triage, tele-health assessment, assessment, treatment planning, therapeutic intervention and evaluation, to consumers of the Cairns and Hinterland Mental Health and Alcohol and Other Drugs Service.
About us:
The Cairns & Hinterland Mental Health & AOD Services is responsible for delivering mental health and AOD services throughout the Cairns and Hinterland Hospital and Health Service and for supporting other mental health and AOD services in the surrounding Hospital and Health Services of Cape York, Torres Strait Northern Peninsula Area.
Its primary objective is to ensure access to a comprehensive range of treatment and support services, clinical treatment, rehabilitation, disability support, as well as early intervention, and mental health prevention and promotion.

About your chance:
In this position you will...




Use the biopsychosocial model to conduct mental health assessments and assist consumers and families/supports to develop a comprehensive individual recovery plan and facilitate the effective delivery of care.
Contribute to the development and implementation of clinical practices, procedures and protocols that support the continuum of care.
Provide effective clinical care, working in collaboration with the Clinical Lead, Team Consultant Psychiatrist and the Cluster Operational Manager to ensure safe standards of consumer care.
Develop and maintain collaborative work practices and relationships with other agencies (including non-government organisations), service providers and consumer and carer groups to ensure consumers have access to an integrated service system.
