About the Opportunity
Are you about to complete your Accounting degree, or have recently graduated and are looking to kick-start your career in public practice?
LBW Business + Wealth Advisors is seeking a Graduate Accountant to join our growing Business and Tax team.
This is an excellent chance to build a strong foundation in accounting, taxation and business advisory while working alongside experienced accountants, managers and principals who are committed to your development.
As a Graduate Accountant, you'll gain hands-on experience across a broad range of clients and industries, assisting with financial statements, tax compliance, BAS preparation and general business advisory work.
You'll be supported through structured training, ongoing mentoring and clear career progression opportunities as you develop your technical and professional skills.
This role is ideal for someone who is motivated to learn, enjoys problem-solving and wants to build a long-term career in public practice accounting.
What You'll Be Doing
Financial Statements & Compliance
Processing client data from Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks and other accounting systems
Preparing financial statements and working papers to review stage
Performing bank reconciliations, debtor and creditor reconciliations
Preparing GST reconciliations and depreciation schedules
Maintaining accurate and fully referenced client files
Reviewing client transactions and identifying discrepancies or issues requiring further investigation
Taxation
Preparing draft individual, company, trust and partnership tax returns
Assisting with tax compliance obligations and lodgements
Reviewing supporting documentation and identifying missing information
Preparing work for review by senior team members
Developing technical taxation knowledge through on-the-job learning
BAS, IAS & Other Client Services
Preparing BAS, IAS and FBT returns




Reviewing GST treatment and making required adjustments
Assisting with payroll tax, FBT and other compliance-related work
Supporting the preparation of engagement letters, trust minutes and tax planning documentation
Client & Team Support
Liaising with clients via phone and email
Communicating with external stakeholders including the ATO, banks and other third parties
Supporting accountants, managers and principals across a variety of engagements
Building professional relationships with clients and colleagues
Learning & Development
Participating in internal training sessions and development programs
Undertaking ongoing technical learning and research
Taking ownership of your development and increasing responsibility over time
Completing self-review of work before submission
Contributing positively to the team and broader firm culture
What We're Looking For
Qualifications
Accounting degree completed or nearing completion
Intention to commence or continue CA or CPA studies
Skills & Attributes
Robust attention to detail and accuracy
Excellent organisational and time management skills
Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Positive attitude and willingness to learn
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
