If you are passionate about fresh food, outstanding customer service and leading by example, Barossa Fresh is seeking an experienced and motivatedMeat, Seafood & Poultry Supervisorto support the Team Leader in delivering a high-quality fresh food offer while driving sales, customer satisfaction, and operational excellence.
About the Role
As theMeat, Seafood & Poultry Supervisor, you will play a key role in overseeing day-to-day department operations, including purchasing, merchandising, inventory management, and customer service.
You will work closely with suppliers, team members, and customers to ensure our fresh food department remains well-stocked, attractive, compliant, and profitable.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver exceptional customer service and create a welcoming shopping experience.
Build positive relationships with customers, members, suppliers, and colleagues.
Cut, trim, slice, and prepare meat products to specification standards.
Source and order products to maintain adequate stock levels and support promotions.
Negotiate with suppliers to achieve favourable pricing, quality, and delivery outcomes.
Coordinate inventory counts and monitor stock levels.
Manage supplier returns and credits for unsellable or low-quality products.
Maintain attractive, fully stocked, and well-rotated displays.
Ensure accurate pricing and signage throughout the department.
Maintain clean, safe, and compliant preparation, display, and storage areas.
Monitor food safety, storage, labelling, and temperature requirements.
About You
To succeed in this role, you will ideally have:
Previous experience in a meat, seafood, poultry, butcher, or fresh food retail environment.
Butcher qualifications (highly regarded).
Strong knowledge of food safety standards and handling procedures.
The ability to work effectively in a rapid-paced environment.
Strong organisational and time-management abilities.
A positive, reliable, and team-focused approach.
The ability to work across a 7-day roster
