About the Role
Reporting directly to the CEO and forming part of CALM's Leadership Team, you will lead the Community Stream, overseeing community programs, place-based initiatives, volunteers, students and community facilities.
You will drive innovation, foster partnerships and ensure high-quality, child-safe and sustainable service delivery.
A key component of the role is providing leadership of theBonnells Bay Youth & Community Centre, while supporting the growth and sustainability of community-focused programs and partnerships.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & People Management
Lead and manage CALM's Community Stream.
Provide supervision, coaching and support to staff, volunteers and students.
Foster a positive, values-driven workplace culture.
Promote staff wellbeing and support professional growth.
Contribute as an active member of CALM's Leadership Team.
Community Development & Program Growth
Identify emerging community needs and opportunities.
Lead the development of new community initiatives and programs.
Support funding opportunities, community partnerships and organisational growth.
Develop sustainable systems and processes that strengthen community impact.
Community Partnerships
Build and maintain relationships with schools,



government agencies, Aboriginal organisations, community groups and funding bodies.
Represent CALM within local networks and forums.
Promote collaborative approaches that strengthen community capacity and wellbeing.
About You
You are an experienced leader who combines strategic thinking with a genuine passion for strengthening communities and supporting people to thrive.
Essential Requirements
✔ Relevant tertiary qualifications in Community Services, Social Work, Human Services, Community Development, Youth Work, Management or a related field.
✔ Demonstrated leadership and supervision experience within community, family or human service settings.
✔ Experience managing staff, volunteers and/or students.
✔ Strong stakeholder engagement and partnership-building skills.
✔ Experience managing community programs, projects or facilities.
✔ Strong understanding of child-safe organisations and safeguarding responsibilities.
✔ Excellent organisational, project management and communication skills.
✔ Current Driver Licence.
✔ Current Working with Children Check and National Police Check.
Highly Regarded
Experience managing community centres or shared community spaces.
Experience with grant development, commissioning or contract management.
Understanding of place-based community development.
Knowledge of Lake Macquarie and surrounding community service networks.
