ABOUT THE ROLE:
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Horticulture Team Member to join our Parks and Open Space team.
In this hands-on role, you will contribute to the maintenance and presentation of Council's parks, gardens and open spaces through landscaping, garden maintenance and a range of open space activities.
You will operate and maintain plant and equipment, assist with customer enquiries and work collaboratively with team members to deliver high-quality outcomes for our community.
Key responsibilities include:
Maintaining Council's parks, gardens and open spaces, including tree planting, mulching, weeding, spraying, mowing, pruning and general open space maintenance.
Operating and maintaining vehicles, plant and equipment in accordance with safety standards and procedures.
Delivering high-quality horticultural and open space maintenance services in line with Council standards and industry best practice.
This is a permanent full-time position, primarily based at the Cowes Depot, with work undertaken across various locations within the municipality.
Standard hours are 7:00am to 4:00pm, including one rostered day off per fortnight.
A BIT ABOUT YOU:
You have experience and knowledge working across Horticulture, landscaping or open spaces, take pride in your work, can demonstrate the ability to work within a team environment and are committed to maintaining safe and attractive public spaces.
A Certificate III in Arboriculture and a heavy/medium rigid licence will be highly regarded.
