We are seeking an experienced and reliable Butcher / Smallgoods Maker to join our Meat Department on a full-time basis.
About the role
Reporting to the Meat Manager, you will prepare and produce a range of high-quality smallgoods and meat products in a busy production environment, while maintaining the highest standards of food safety and hygiene.
This is a hands-on, full-time position suited to someone who takes pride in their craft and consistency.
Key responsibilities
• Preparing and producing smallgoods, including sausages, hams and cured meats, to recipe and quality standards;
• Cutting, boning, trimming and portioning meat for production and retail/wholesale supply;
• Operating and cleaning commercial meat-processing and smallgoods machinery safely;




• Applying HACCP and Australian food-safety and hygiene standards at all stages of production and storage;
• Monitoring stock, ingredients and production schedules to meet daily demand;
• Working cooperatively with the Meat Manager, Supervisor and process workers to maintain consistent output.
Skills and experience
• Demonstrated experience as a butcher and/or smallgoods maker, or a relevant trade qualification (Certificate III in a meat-processing or related discipline, or equivalent experience);
• Sound knowledge of food-safety standards (HACCP) and secure machinery operation;
• Strong attention to detail, reliability and the physical capacity for a production environment;
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team and follow workplace health-and-safety procedures;
• Functional English communication skills.
