Educational Case Management (ECM) is a multidisciplinary allied health provider based in Newcastle and Rutherford, serving the broader Hunter Valley region.
The team delivers Psychology, Social Work, Speech Pathology, Occupational Therapy, Exercise Physiology, Behavioural Therapy, and Physiotherapy to children, adolescents, and adults.
Role Description The Behavioural Support Practitioner needs to be a registered NDIS Behavioural Support Practitioner.
You will be responsible for providing evidence-based behavioural assessment and intervention to clients across the lifespan, with a focus on enhancing quality of life, safety, and participation in daily activities.
This is a hybrid role based in the Greater Newcastle Area, combining in office work in clinic, school, home, and community settings with some work-from-home flexibility for planning, documentation, and telehealth sessions.
Day-to-day tasks include conducting functional behavioural assessments, developing and implementing behaviour support plans, and coaching families, caregivers, and support staff in positive behavior support strategies.
The practitioner collaborates closely with ECM's multidisciplinary team to ensure integrated service delivery, attends case conferences, and contributes to ongoing service improvement.
They also maintain accurate records, meet reporting and compliance requirements,
and participate in professional development and supervision to uphold high clinical standards.
QualificationsRelevant tertiary qualification in Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy, Behavioural Science, Special Education, or a related discipline, with eligibility for appropriate professional registration or membership.Demonstrated skills in functional behavioural assessment, development of behaviour support plans, and delivery of positive behavior support interventions for children, adolescents, and/or adults.Experience working within multidisciplinary allied health or community settings, collaborating with health, welfare, education, and disability services.Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to coach families, carers, and support staff, and to build respectful, trauma-informed, and culturally safe relationships.Sound clinical judgment, case management, and documentation skills, including report writing, goal setting, data collection, and monitoring of client outcomes.Understanding of relevant legislation, NDIS frameworks, and best-practice guidelines related to restrictive practices, safeguarding, and person-centred care.Ability to work independently and as part of a team, manage competing priorities, and adapt to clinic, community, and remote work environments.
