The Role
We are looking for aTrade Assistant/Laborerto join our team in Cairns – Queensland.
This role involves performing manual tasks and operating machinery while ensuring all tasks are completed safely, efficiently, and effectively.
Key Responsibilities
General cleaning and laboring support across the workshop and yard
Organising, cleaning and maintaining a safe and tidy workspace
Pick-up and delivery of workshop equipment
Safely operating a forklift to move and store materials and equipment
Supporting the workshop operations to ensure efficiency and workflow
Picking and packing of mechanical equipment (inward and outward goods)




Assisting trades such as Hydraulic Technicians and Hose Technicians when required
Assist with tool store and hire fleet management
Assist with calibration system for workshop equipment
Assist with general duties such as procurement, store liaison, job identification, workshop maintenance and clean up
Assist with routine maintenance and repairs of workshop equipment
Identify and report problems in processes, systems, or procedures
Initiate or recommend solutions to problems identified
Ensure prompt reporting of all incidents
And any other duties as reasonably required from time to time
Qualifications & Experience
The successful candidate will possess the following:
Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role (Essential)
Valid Australian driver's license or equivalent (Essential)
Valid Forklift license
Solid commitment to safety practices and procedures in the workplace
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively within a team
Ability to perform physically demanding tasks and work in various environmental conditions
Availability to travel to job sites as needed
