Norton Gold Fields is seeking an experiencedMechanical Fitterto join the Maintenance team at our Binduli Processing Plant.
Reporting to the Mechanical Supervisor, you will maintain, repair and install fixed-plant mechanical systems and components.
This hands-on role includes preventative maintenance, breakdown response, shutdown work, inspections and occasional shift coverage and call-outs.
Roster:8:6 (day-shift)
About The Role:
The Mechanical Fitter is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and installing the mechanical systems and components at Paddington Processing Plant associated work areas, safely and efficiently.
Maintenance Fitters will be required to complete routine PM's, Shutdown work as well as some shift coverage and call-out work.
All work is to be completed in line with company safety and quality standards a safe and efficient manner whilst still being compliant with all relevant Statutory requirements and health and safety regulations.
The Mechanical Fitter works cohesively as a valuable member of the Maintenance Department.
The role reports to the Mechanical Supervisor; it is expected that the position will have an interactive role with all Plant Operations personnel & Stores.
Key Duties and Tasks:
Diagnosis of faults and equipment breakdowns.
Estimation of time and materials required to complete jobs and raising of orders.
Carry out time and material estimations for planned tasks and enter associated parts orders.
Undertaking repairs and component change outs, where required.
Undertaking preventative maintenance inspections, equipment repairs and associated component change outs in a protected, responsible and timely manner.
Regular inspections of tools and equipment, ensuring good working order.
Regular inspections of tooling, equipment, work areas,



and plant to identify hazards, operational compliance, damage and defects.
Provide training, supervision and support to Apprentices, where required.
Additional duties over shutdown periods as required.
Assist new employees and Contractors in the application of Company Policies and Procedures.
Ensure all tasks meet quality standards and deadline and are carried out safely.
Any other duties as required.
Role Requirements:
Mechanical Fitter Trade Qualification (Essential)
Current unrestricted "C" Class WA Manual Drivers Licence (Essential)
Satisfactory NPC clearance (Essential)
Valid work visa, permanent residency or Australian citizenship (Essential)
Forklift Licence (Desirable)
Senior First Aid Certificate (Desirable)
EWP & CN Crane Tickets (Desirable)
HR Ticket (Desirable)
