Permanent full-time role
Salary Level 6 - $115,829 to $123,732 per annum (FTE) plus superannuation

Are you an experienced arborist with strong tree management expertise?
The City of West Torrens is seeking a skilled Senior Technical Officer Arboriculture to deliver Council's tree management services in line with the Community Plan and Council's Tree Strategy.
In this role, you will provide expert arboriculture advice, undertake detailed tree assessments, and lead and coordinate operational programs that support tree health and enhance public safety.
Key responsibilities:
Provide technical arboriculture advice and assessments for trees on Council, State Government and privately owned land.
Lead and coordinate key arboriculture programs including tree risk inspection scheduling, works programming, and maintaining the accuracy of Council's electronic tree management system.
Manage Council's street tree greening program (including location identification, species selection, customer contact and forecasting up to 5 years).
Oversee contracts and contractors undertaking arboriculture works, including allocating contractor resources, managing specifications, and resolving on-site issues.
Prepare reports and recommendations, respond to customer requests, and support investigations.
Work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders and support effective community consultation for projects.

Who you are
If you're a confident arborist with the initiative, energy and enthusiasm to deliver consistently high-quality outcomes, you could be an excellent fit for our City Operations team.
You'll bring substantial technical, practical and theoretical arboriculture experience, along with proven capability in management and the delivery of accurate, well-reasoned technical advice.
You must also have the minimum essential qualifications and documents as perthe following:
Diploma of Arboriculture
Industry recognised tree risk assessment qualification
Current Class C Drivers Licence
National Police Clearance (within 6 months of issue or willingness to obtain throughout recruitment)
