We have an exciting and challenging opportunity for a suitably qualified and experienced Principal Mechanical Engineer to join our Mineral Technologies business located Carrara QLD.

About the Role
The Principal Mechanical Engineer will lean on extensive industry experience to ensure all engineering project work complies with statutory and regulatory requirements and company policies and practices.
Additionally, the Principal Mechanical Engineer will drive growth of overall discipline capability in line with business strategies and targets.
The Principal Mechanical Engineer will liase with Department Managers, Project Managers, Study Managers, other engineering Discipline Principals/Leads, Designers and the broader engineering team to oversee and deliver engineering work product and strategic growth initiatives.
The successful incumbent can envision themselves attending to duties such as:
Review,



approve and govern mechanical engineering deliverables (concept through to EPCM)Solve complex technical challenges across mineral processing projectsProvide leadership, coaching and mentoring across the engineering teamEnsure compliance with statutory, safety and design standards (SiD / HSEC)About You
Degree in Mechanical Engineering + Chartered / RPEQ (highly regarded)15+ years' experience in mining / mineral processing design environmentsStrong experience across study phases: Concept → Feasibility → Detailed Design → EPCMDemonstrated leadership in mentoring and developing engineering teamsDeep expertise in wet plant design (pumping, piping, slurry systems)Strong knowledge of mechanical equipment selection and plant layoutProven capability in technical reviews, calculations and specificationsExperience with HAZIDs, HAZOPs and engineering risk reviewsWhat We Offer
