The Role
As a First Nations Engagement Advisor, you will be coordinating Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) initiatives, strengthening relationship with First Nations communities and stakeholders.
You Will:
Coordinate the development, implementation, monitoring and reporting of RAP initiatives and prepare updates, reports and presentations for leaderships and executive committees.
Drive accountability against RAP deliverables, timelines and measurable outcomes.
Work collaboratively with leaders and teams to embed reconciliation principles into everyday practices.
Identify opportunities to improve cultural capability, procurement, employment pathways and community engagement outcomes.
Build and maintain authentic relationships with First Nations communities, organisations, Elders and stakeholders.
Represent the organisation at community meetings, events and networking opportunities.
Identify and contribute to business development opportunities that align with First Nations engagement, employment and community outcomes.
Contribute to the development of tender and grant submissions, including drafting content, coordinating inputs and ensuring alignment with cultural protocols and community priorities.
Assist internal teams to strengthen First Nations participation, engagement and service offerings.
Provide cultural guidance and strategic advice across business operations, projects and initiatives.




About You
You build strong relationships, communicate effectively, and are passionate about connecting with the First Nations communities and in culturally sensitive service delivery and workforce initiatives
You have:
Demonstrated experience working with First Nations communities and organisations.
An existing network of First Nations connections to build upon.
Strong understanding of reconciliation, cultural safety and community engagement principles.
Experience coordinating RAP initiatives or similar strategic programs.
A willingness to undertake business development activities to support growth and enhancement of Maxima's First Nations programs and services.
Strong cultural awareness, professionalism and integrity.
Strong communication, facilitation and presentation abilities.
Ability to work collaboratively across multiple teams and stakeholders.
Experience coordinating committees, projects or governance processes.
High level organisational and administrative skills.
Current Drivers Licence.
A current National Criminal History Record Check (Police Clearance).
A current Working with Children Check.
