About The Role
As an Associate Midwife Unit Manager you'll assist in the leadership; planning and delivery of a high quality service within Barwon Health's Maternity Service whilst developing a professional and collaborative partnership in the management of the Birth Suite.
Key Responsibilities
Support the Unit Manager in the operational management of the ward/unit
Provide clinical leadership and supervision to nursing and midwifery staff
Coordinate patient flow and staffing allocation on a shift-by-shift basis
Promote a culture of safety, quality improvement, and evidence-based practice
Deliver exceptional postnatal care to women, babies, and families
Act as a role model and mentor for junior staff
Assist with staff education, performance management, and development
What We're Looking For
Current registration as a Registered Midwife with AHPRA
Demonstrated clinical experience in maternity care
Proven leadership or management experience (or readiness to step into leadership)
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities
Commitment to patient-centred care and continuous improvement
