About the Role
Inghams is seeking an experienced Maintenance Store Controller to manage the day-to-day operations of our maintenance stores.
In this role, you will be responsible for the accurate management, control and record-keeping of mechanical and electrical spare parts, ensuring engineering and maintenance teams have reliable access to the components they need to keep our operations running smoothly.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone with strong stores management experience, a structured and detail-oriented approach, and the confidence to work autonomously while supporting trades, procurement, quality and management teams.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and maintain the maintenance stores inventory, including receipting, issuing and stocktaking of mechanical and electrical parts and components
Operate and maintain accurate records within the computerised stores management system (Maximo experience preferred)
Conduct mandatory stock counts and inventory reconciliation in line with company procedures
Apply sound stores management techniques appropriate to an engineering, project or food processing environment
Liaise effectively with trades, procurement, quality and management teams to support maintenance and operational requirements
Maintain a clean, organised and safe stores setting
Operate a forklift to receive, store and move stock as required
What We're Looking For
Minimum 5 years' experience in a stores or warehouse environment, preferably within food processing, FMCG or heavy industry
Experience with a computerised stores management system, Maximo preferred
Knowledge of stores management techniques and systems, particularly in an engineering, project or food processing environment
Conversant with inventory management and mandatory stock counting procedures
Aptitude in mechanical and electrical parts and components, with experience in similar fields advantageous
Proficient in MS Excel, and comfortable with web-based applications, ERP systems and email
Ability to work in a logical and structured manner, with excellent record-keeping and data management practices
Strong communication skills with the ability to liaise effectively across trades, procurement, quality and management teams
High level of integrity, reliability and professionalism
Self-motivated, with the ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
Qualifications / Licences
Relevant work experience in inventory management in a manufacturing environment
Current Forklift Licence
Intermediate computer skills
