Farm Machinery Operator
Wilberforce Pastoral Company Pty Ltd is a grain growing operation situated in the Wheatbelt region of Western Australia.
We are seeking an experienced Farm Machinery Operator to join our team on a full-time basis.
As a Farm Machinery Operator, your everyday responsibilities will include (but are not limited) to the following:
- Operate and monitor a range of agricultural machinery and mobile plant, including seeding rigs, harvesters, fertiliser spreaders, boom sprayers, loaders, earthmoving machinery, telehandlers, tractors, and deep rippers/cultivation equipment, to carry out broadacre farming operations safely and efficiently.
- Prepare, position, calibrate and adjust agricultural machinery and implements for seasonal operations and varying soil, crop and field conditions.
- Operate agricultural machinery to prepare land, cultivate soil, sow seed, apply fertiliser and agricultural chemicals, and harvest crops in accordance with production schedules and seasonal requirements
- Adjust machinery settings, including operating speed, working height and cultivation depth, to achieve optimum field performance and crop outcomes.
- Conduct pre-start and operational inspections to ensure machinery is functioning safely and efficiently and complies with workplace health and safety requirements.
- Perform routine servicing,



preventative maintenance and repairs on agricultural machinery and equipment to minimise downtime and maintain operational readiness.
- Identify and report mechanical faults requiring specialist repair and maintain accurate machinery service and maintenance records.
Requirements for the candidate
- Hold the relevant qualifications (Certificate I or higher); or have at least two (2) years of relevant full time work experience;
- Competency in John Deere Guidance systems;
- Hold a valid driver's licence (with MC preferred);
- Experience and competency in effective machinery operation;
- Experience in firefighting;
- Have a solid mechanical background;
- Have a very strong work ethic, an ability to solve problems independently and a genuine desire to add value to the team; and
- Willingness to live on site in the single accommodation provided.
What we are offering
This is a full-time position offering a generous base salary between $75,000 - $85,000 plus superannuation to the right candidate (depending on experience).
Single accommodation is provided.
