We're looking for an experiencedValve Technician / Machinistwho enjoys hands-on mechanical work and has strong manual machining skills, particularly on conventional lathes.
About the Role
This is a varied workshop-based position.
You'll be responsible for inspecting, repairing, machining and testing a wide range of industrial relief valves to exacting standards.
Key Responsibilities
Strip, inspect and overhaul valves.
Operate manual centre lathes to manufacture and restore valve components.
Machine valve seats, guides, stems, bushes and other required parts.
Read engineering drawings and use precision measuring equipment.
Carry out pop testing and assisting where required.
Complete job documentation and maintain quality standards.
Work safely within company procedures and workshop practices.
Assist with loading/unloading items onto trucks via Forklift.
About You
To be successful in this role you'll have:
Extensive experience operating manual lathes.
Strong machining skills with close tolerance work.
Experience repairing mechanical equipment or industrial components.
High attention to detail and pride in producing quality work.
Strong problem-solving ability.
Current driver's licence.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Highly Regarded
Experience overhauling safety relief valves.
Mechanical trade qualification (Fitter & Turner, Machinist or equivalent).
Experience with milling machines and general workshop equipment.
Forklift licence.
High Risk Work Licence (where applicable).
