Describe the role in your career most relevant to this position — what you did, how long you held the role, and three specific strategies you used to improve team culture, including the impact this had on the business.
Describe one significant challenging situation you encountered with an employee, and how you resolved it successfully, in detail.
Applications without a cover letter addressing the above will not be progressed.
About the business
Kwik Koffee is a high-volume specialty coffee drive-through operating as part of KoffeeWorks Group in Perth.
The Canning Vale site is an established, high-performing venue trading seven days a week.
About the role
This is a full time position responsible for the day-to-day management of a single drive-through venue and its team.
The role reports directly to the Kwik Koffee Area Manager.
This is fundamentally a people management role: full responsibility for team leadership, rostering, performance management, and day-to-day decision-making at the venue.
This is delivered from the floor, not from an office — the successful candidate will work on the coffee machine and at the service window alongside the team as part of daily operations.
This is not a seated or administrative management role.
Trading hours are 4:30am to 2:30pm.
The role requires one rostered weekend day per week, with the remaining roster set in advance and consistent week to week.
There is no evening or night trade associated with this role.
This role does not involve liquor licensing, multiple revenue streams (e.g. bar, restaurant, functions, events), or management across multiple departments (e.g. housekeeping, kitchen, front-of-house).
The venue operates a single product line with one team.
This position is intended for an experienced people manager.
Candidates who require extended training or development in team management, performance management, or workplace relations should consider other roles within the business; this is not a developmental or step-up position.
Key responsibilities
Full accountability for team leadership, culture, and performance at the venue
Coaching, motivating, and developing team members, including recognising and building on strong performance
Rostering and labour management
Recruitment, onboarding, and training of venue staff
Managing performance issues, formal warnings, and staff exits in line with Fair Work requirements
Day-to-day operational management, including stock, cash handling, and venue presentation
Driving venue profitability and operational standards
Acting as the primary decision-maker on site, with support from the Area Manager on strategic matters
Requirements
Proven experience managing teams of 6 or more people
Experience in hospitality, QSR, or a comparable fast-paced, customer-facing environment is preferred; candidates from other industries with demonstrated people-management experience will be considered
Demonstrated ability to lead across the full range of team management, including motivating, developing, and recognising staff, as well as managing performance issues, formal warnings, and staff exits where required, with a sound working knowledge of Fair Work requirements
Demonstrated experience contributing to venue growth and profitability, not just day-to-day operational maintenance
Comfortable working on the floor in a hands-on operational role, in addition to management duties
This role is intended to be the applicant's primary and ongoing employment
What is offered
$100,000 base salary
Superannuation
Free coffee during shifts and staff discounts on food
Set weekly roster, with hours confirmed in advance
No evening or night trade
Single-site, single-team structure with direct reporting to the Area Manager
Career progression within KoffeeWorks Group is available but not required
