Community Development Officer (Indigenous Identified)
Full time 35 hours per week
The Community Development Officer position will be based in the beautiful Mossman Gorge working with Bamanga Bubu Ngadimunku Aboriginal Corporation, local organisations and Bama people to strengthen community development programs to support self-reliance and empowerment of the people.
The role involves the following:
Develop, plan and coordinate all community development programs, activities, training and employment opportunities.
Have excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office and Outlook
Undertake reporting, provide advice, develop community development strategies
Support, manage mentor and supervise two (2) staff under our Deadly Active Sport program
Hold a valid Queensland drivers licence
Hold a current Working with Children - BlueCard
Provide monthly reports and assist with all duties as required by management
This role is classified as anIdentified Positionto signify the solid involvement relating to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander matters.
This means that cultural competency is a mandatory selection criterion that will be assessed as part of the recruitment process.
