Job Description
East End Cellars The Trustee for East
End Cellars Unit Trust, trading as East End Cellars Vardon Avenue, is seeking an experienced Chef de Partie, classified under Chef (ANZSCO ******), to join its hospitality team at its Vardon Avenue venue in Adelaide, South Australia.
East
End Cellars Vardon Avenue operates a combined restaurant and fine-wine retail venue.
The business offers restaurant dining, seasonal food, shared dishes, charcuterie-style offerings, wine tastings, wine lunches, private functions and special hospitality events.
The Chef de Partie will be responsible for managing an allocated section of the kitchen and preparing high-quality dishes that complement the venue's food-and-wine-focused offering.
The position requires strong culinary knowledge, effective section management and the ability to maintain consistent standards during restaurant service, functions, wine events and other high-demand periods.

Preparing, seasoning and cooking menu items in accordance with approved recipes, portion requirements and presentation standards.
Preparing seasonal dishes, shared plates and other menu items suited to East End Cellars Vardon Avenue's restaurant and wine-focused hospitality offering.
Monitoring the quality, taste, temperature,



portioning and presentation of dishes at all stages of preparation and service.
Assisting the Head Chef with seasonal menu planning, daily specials, function menus and dishes for wine tastings and special events.
Coordinating food preparation and service with other kitchen sections, front-of-house staff and beverage personnel.
Supervising and guiding junior chefs, cooks and kitchen assistants within the allocated section.
Monitoring stock levels, checking deliveries and ensuring ingredients are stored, labelled and rotated correctly.
Applying portion-control and waste-reduction procedures to support efficient kitchen operations.
Preparing meals for customers with dietary requirements and allergies in accordance with food-safety procedures.
Maintaining kitchen records, temperature logs, cleaning schedules and stock documentation.
Ensuring all kitchen areas, equipment and workstations are maintained in a clean, safe and orderly condition.
Following food-safety, hygiene and Workplace Health and Safety requirements.
Supporting the Head Chef in maintaining consistent food quality, kitchen efficiency and customer-service standards.
Qualification & experience Relevant qualification in Commercial Cookery, Hospitality or an equivalent culinary qualification.
Minimum of three years of relevant experience as a Chef,



Chef de Partie or in a comparable professional kitchen role.
Demonstrated ability to manage an allocated kitchen section during busy service periods.
Strong knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, portion control and presentation standards.
Experience preparing seasonal dishes, shared plates and function or event menus.
Ability to assist with menu planning, daily specials and food preparation for wine-focused hospitality service.
Sound knowledge of food safety, hygiene, allergen management, temperature control and stock rotation.
Ability to supervise and guide junior kitchen personnel.
Strong organisational, communication and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced kitchen.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to consistent food quality and customer service.
