Employment Type: Full-Time Permanent Location: Kewdale, WA **** Salary: $75,000 – $85,000 per annum plus superannuation
GENERAL TRANSPORT EQUIPMENT PTY LTD is currently seeking an experienced Fitter to join our growing team in Kewdale, WA ****.
Due to continued business growth, we are looking for a motivated and reliable tradesperson to support the assembly, fitting, installation, repair, and maintenance of transport equipment, mechanical components, and related systems.
This is a full-time permanent position offering an annual salary of $75,000 – $85,000 plus superannuation, depending on skills and experience.
Key Responsibilities Read and interpret engineering drawings, technical specifications, and workshop documentation.
Assemble, fit, install, and modify mechanical components, transport equipment, and related systems.
Perform mechanical fitting, repairs, adjustments, and maintenance activities on trailers, semi-trailers, and associated equipment.
Inspect, test, and measure completed work to ensure accuracy, quality, and compliance with required standards.
Diagnose mechanical faults and carry out repairs, servicing, and preventative maintenance.
Use hand tools, power tools,



and specialised equipment to complete fitting and mechanical tasks.
Ensure all work is completed in accordance with workplace health and safety requirements and quality procedures.
Maintain a safe, clean, and organised workshop environment.
About You To be successful in this role, you will have:
A relevant trade qualification as a Fitter, Mechanical Fitter, or equivalent.
A minimum of 1–2 years of relevant experience as a Fitter or in a similar mechanical fitting role.
Experience working with mechanical components, equipment assembly, repairs, and maintenance.
Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
A strong commitment to quality workmanship and workplace safety.
