As an Identified role, this position is open only to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander persons, Australia's First Nations people.

About the Role
As a Family Support Worker, you will provide culturally safe, trauma-informed support to families.
You will work directly with families and the community to build trust, strengthen relationships, and support positive outcomes.
The Mirganha Program is seeking a passionate and compassionate Family Support Worker to walk alongside Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families,



supporting healing from intergenerational trauma and strengthening connection to culture, community, and wellbeing.
Key responsibilities
· Deliver culturally safe case management and family support
· Support families with safety planning and service access
· Build robust, respectful relationships within the community
· Facilitate peer support groups and wellbeing activities
· Maintain accurate case notes and records
· Contribute to program planning and continuous improvement
Who We're Looking For:
· Qualification in Community Services (or similar) or relevant experience
· Strong case management and communication skills
· Understanding of the impacts of intergenerational trauma
· Knowledge of challenges facing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families
· Highly organised, proactive, and community-focused
· Passionate about making a meaningful difference
Requirements:
· Working with Children Check
· National Criminal Record Check
· Valid C Class Driver's License
