Role Description As a Positive Behaviour Practitioner (Core or/and Proficient considered), you will prepare, implement, and review positive behavior support plans that promote safety, choice, and wellbeing for individuals with complex behavioral needs.
Working hybrid in Adelaide, SA in a full-time capacity, you will conduct functional behavior assessments, observe daily routines, and collaborate with the person, their family, and other support professionals to understand triggers and strengths.
You will coach support workers and caregivers in proactive, strengths-based strategies, provide training on de-escalation and communication techniques, and monitor the effectiveness of interventions.
The role includes maintaining accurate documentation, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, standards, and organizational policies.
You will also participate in multidisciplinary meetings, contribute to continuous service improvement, and support a culture of respect,



inclusion, and human rights.QualificationsAbility to apply positive behavior support principles, conduct functional assessments, and develop individualized behavior support plans.Skills in collaborating with individuals, families, and multidisciplinary teams to co-design and implement practical, person-centered strategies.Competence in report writing, data collection, and maintaining clear, accurate, and confidential documentation.Solid communication, coaching, and training skills to support frontline staff and caregivers in implementing positive behavior approaches.Capacity to manage time effectively, prioritize caseloads, and work safely in dynamic on-site environments.Relevant tertiary qualification in psychology, social work, behavioral science, special education, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
Knowledge of disability support frameworks, human rights-based practice, and applicable legislation or standards (e.g., NDIS Practice Standards or similar).
Commitment to trauma-informed practice, cultural safety, and inclusive support for people from diverse backgrounds.Proficiency with basic computer applications and electronic record systems for case management and reporting and use of NDIS Provider Portal.Current NDIS and WWCC checks along with other relevant compliance requirements, and willingness to participate in ongoing professional development.
