Established in **** as a key service provider to the increasing migrant, refugee, and new international arrivals population of the Gold Coast, Multicultural Communities Council Gold Coast Ltd (MCCGC) is the peak regional organisation serving the needs of multicultural residents.
With more than 35 years' experience, MCCGC is well known and regarded for its role in helping people from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) backgrounds connect with the local community and have equal access to appropriate health and well-being services.

We provide services to mainstream and CALD communities across the Aged, Disability, and Community service sectors.

Purpose of Position:
Are you passionate about empowering individuals through education and employment?
As ourEmployment and Training Navigator, you'll play a vital role in helping job seekers achieve meaningful career outcomes.
You'll work closely with our Employment, Training, and Pathways Coordinator to support and grow MCCGC's community-based programs, making a real difference in the lives of people across the Gold Coast.
You'll be offering employment support and career mentoring through individual and group sessions.
It will be a 6-month outer limit role and 3 to 4 days a week if you are looking for a flexible work schedule.
Key Responsibilities:
Help and support job seekers with resume and cover letter writing, interview preparation, and LinkedIn profiles.
Assist participants in achieving employment outcomes and meeting the demand for qualified people to work in key industries across the region.
Facilitate employability and life skills training for participants.
Assist participants with individualized training and support plans.
Present and facilitate Employment and Training programs and industry events to achieve participant outcomes.
Record the participant in a data management system, and a monthly and annual report.
Ensure program targets are met, and outcomes are achieved within budget.
Attend networking events to connect with employers and potential clients.
Facilitate and coordinate participant recruitment.
Assess participants to ensure program eligibility to meet their needs and aspirations.
Deliver individual and group-based learning support and work readiness assistance in conjunction with facilitators and Registered Training Organisations.
Collaborate with program teams to deliver high-impact training and employment pathways.
Maintain quality standards and compliance with all reporting and contractual requirements.
Work with the team to deliver and advertise workshops and other relevant activities.
Desired Skills and Experience
Minimum 3 years' experience and/or Tertiary qualifications in Employment, Training, Education, or relevant disciplines.
Case management experience with a good understanding of client-centred and holistic practice framework; and the ability to provide provision of advice and referral pathways as relevant.
Career Mentoring including 1-1 session with clients from, resume, cover letter, interview preparation, job search strategies.
Demonstrated management experience with a valuable understanding of not-for-profit organisation processes.
Strong knowledge and understanding of the multicultural sector, including relevant government policies and programs.
Ability to deliver and evaluate programs against government funding contracts.
Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to deal constructively with complex and sometimes conflicting situations.
Microsoft Excel skills are essential, including data management, reporting, analysis, and record-keeping.
Experience using Canva or similar design software to create professional promotional, training, and community engagement materials.
Excellent leadership and people management skills, including the ability to effectively coach, mentor, and motivate multi-disciplinary teams and other key stakeholders.
Highly developed advocacy and negotiation skills to represent MCCGC in a professional and positive manner to government agencies and other external bodies.
Current Police Clearance, Driver's License, and Blue Card.
