Estimator
Job Summary
Help make sure every Granny Flats WA project starts with the right information, accurate quantities and solid numbers.
We're looking for an Estimator to join our Estimating team and take ownership of the critical stage between signed contracts and production — checking plans, contracts and variations, preparing take-offs, maintaining pricing information and ensuring production receives accurate information for ordering and scheduling.
This is a detail-focused role where accuracy matters.
You'll work across multiple jobs at once, identify inconsistencies before they become problems, and play a key part in making sure every build progresses on solid information.
Job Description
If you're someone who enjoys working with numbers, plans and problem-solving — and takes pride in getting things right the first time — this role was built for you.
Granny Flats WA is a family-owned Perth builder with over 20 years' experience delivering granny flats, renovations and extensions throughout Perth.
We are in a growth phase and looking for someone who thrives on accuracy, ownership and continuous improvement.
As the Estimator, you will be responsible for checking that contracts, approved plans and variations align before production information is finalised, preparing take-offs and quantities, maintaining pricing information and supporting the smooth transition of projects into production.
What You'll Do
Review signed contracts, approved plans and variations to ensure information aligns before production proceeds
Identify and resolve discrepancies between contracts, plans and variations
Prepare accurate take-offs and quantities for ordering and scheduling
Enter quantities into order sheets for production planning and procurement
Maintain pricing schedules and variation pricing information
Review supplier quotes and ensure they align with project requirements
Check steel framing information against approved plans and contract inclusions
Monitor active jobs and maintain visibility over outstanding items
Liaise with drafting, sales, client liaison, production teams, suppliers and subcontractors
Escalate issues, risks or discrepancies before they affect project delivery
About You
Experience in construction administration, estimating support, procurement, project coordination, drafting support or a similar role is preferred
Some exposure to residential construction, plans, quantities, pricing or technical documentation
Comfortable, or developing confidence, reading residential building plans
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Organised and able to manage multiple tasks and priorities
Good Microsoft Excel, Outlook and Word skills
Willingness to learn new systems and processes, including Procore
Proactive, reliable and committed to seeing tasks through to completion
Genuine interest in residential construction and the building industry
Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across teams
You don't need to be an experienced Estimator to apply.
We are open to candidates from construction administration, project support, procurement, drafting support, scheduling or similar backgrounds who have strong attention to detail and are looking to build a career in estimating.
What We Offer
Full time office-based role in Booragoon
Supportive and collaborative team environment
Opportunity to develop estimating skills within a growing residential building company
Stable pipeline of work across granny flats, renovations and extensions
Genuine long-term career opportunity
Competitive salary based on experience
