Your role, your impact
As Senior Mental Health Coordinator, you'll provide leadership and clinical oversight while supporting young people through assessment, intake and brief intervention services.
You will play an important role in strengthening service quality, supporting clinicians, and creating positive experiences for young people, families and carers.
You will:
Lead and support the Intake & Brief Intervention Team, providing clinical oversight, supervision, guidance and professional development.
Support high-quality, evidence-informed practice across clinicians, private providers and partner agencies.
Provide mental health, risk and psychosocial assessments for young people and their families, including intake and brief intervention support.
Guide clinical decision-making through participation in intake and clinical review meetings.
Manage a small caseload, supporting young people from assessment through to connection with appropriate services.
Champion a youth-friendly and inclusive service culture, ensuring young people feel welcomed,



respected and supported.
Provide leadership on complex practice issues, including risk, confidentiality, consent, child safety and ethical decision-making.
Build strong partnerships and referral pathways with stakeholders and community services to improve access to care.
Contribute to service development and continuous improvement, helping shape the future of youth mental health support in the region.
About You
We're looking for an experienced youth mental health clinician who combines strong leadership capability with a genuine passion for supporting young people.
This is more than a clinical role – we're seeking someone who can confidently lead, mentor and support a multidisciplinary team while fostering a positive, inclusive and cooperative culture.
To thrive in this role, you'll also have:
A tertiary qualification in Nursing, Psychology, Occupational Therapy or Social Work, with eligibility for registration or membership with the relevant professional body
At least 2 years' experience in youth mental health, supporting young people experiencing mental health and psychosocial challenges
Experience leading, supervising, mentoring or coordinating clinicians, with the ability to provide sound clinical guidance and foster positive team culture
Experience conducting mental health, psychosocial and risk assessments with young people and families
Strong communication, stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills, alongside a cooperative, inclusive and person-centred approach
What Will Make You Stand Out
You'll be highly regarded if you bring:
Experience working in a headspace, youth mental health or early intervention setting
Strong understanding of intake, brief intervention and single session therapy models
Experience supporting inclusive, culturally secure and youth-friendly service delivery




Confidence working across multidisciplinary teams and external partner agencies
A thoughtful, reflective approach to clinical leadership and service improvement
