About the Opportunity
Knight Frank is seeking an experienced and commercially astuteChief Operating Officer (COO)to join our executive leadership team in North Queensland.
This is a leading role in one of the region's most established full-service property businesses, overseeing operations acrossTownsville and Mackayand driving continued growth, innovation, and performance.
Reporting directly to the Senior Partner and Directors, the COO will play a critical role in aligningstrategy, people, processes, and technologyto deliver enhanced outcomes for clients and the business.
About the Role
As COO, you will be responsible for facilitating the operational aspects of the business enhancing multiple service lines, including:
Asset Management
Valuations & Advisory
Sales & Leasing
Project Sales
Residential Sales & Marketing
You will enable operational efficiencies, ensure regulatory compliance, and drive the strategic initiatives to continue Knight Frank's position as the leading property advisory firm in regional Queensland.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership
Oversee day-to-day operations across all departments
Implement and monitor policies, procedures, and KPIs required by the Directors
Drive continuous improvement and best practice initiatives
Strategic Planning & Execution
Partner with Directors to deliver strategic growth initiatives
Align local operations with Knight Frank's global standards
Financial & Risk Management
Manage budgets, costs, and profitability outcomes
Identify and mitigate operational and financial risks
Ensure compliance with property, WHS, and ESG requirements
Legislative Compliance
Act as AML/CTF Compliance Officer (AUSTRAC)




Ensure licensing compliance across all staff
People & Culture
Encourage and enable high-performing teams to benefit from technology
Facilitate recruitment, retention, and engagement strategies
Foster a collaborative and accountable culture
Technology & Innovation
Lead digital transformation initiatives
Improve systems, data use, and operational efficiency
Client & Stakeholder Engagement
Support our team with key client relationships and industry engagement
About You
We are seeking a candidate with solid commercial and operational capability:
Minimum5+ years in a senior leadership role, ideally within property or professional services
Demonstrated success in enhancing operational efficiencies in teams
Sound financial management and commercial acumen
Deep understanding ofAustralian property compliance and regulatory frameworks
Experience drivingtechnology adoption and business transformation
A highly organised, detail-oriented and outcomes-driven approach
