Sun Metals is one of the most technologically advanced zinc refineries in the world, producing Special High Grade Zinc metal, Zinc Alloy metal and by-products including Sulfuric Acid, Copper, Cadmium and Zinc Ferrite.
Our process involves Roasting, Leaching, Purification, Electrolysis and Casting, with sales to both domestic and international markets.

About the role
This newly created role is ideal for someone who takes pride in precision, safety, and high‐quality workmanship in industrial environments.
You'll be responsible for preparing and coating structural steel, pipelines, tanks, and process equipment using industrial-grade coatings designed for corrosive and high‐risk environments.
Working within a major hazard facility means you'll be part of a team where safety, compliance, and attention to detail are non‐negotiable.
Key Responsibilities
Surface preparation including abrasive blasting, cleaning, and priming
Application of industrial coatings using spray, brush, and roller methods
Inspection and quality assurance of coating systems




Safe operation of tools and equipment in a major hazard facility
Compliance with site safety protocols, permits, and hazard controls
Collaboration with maintenance, engineering, and safety teams
About You
Experience as an industrial painter or blaster/painter in heavy industry
Knowledge of coating systems, surface preparation standards, and QA processes
Ability to work safely in high‐risk environments
Certifications such as Working at Heights, Confined Space, and EWP are advantageous
Strong work ethic and commitment to safety
