Want to use your digital communications skills to help drive real social change?
At SACOSS, we're looking for a creative and strategic Digital Campaign Specialist to help shape campaigns that influence public debate, amplify lived experience, and advocate for a fairer South Australia.
This is an opportunity to go beyond selling products or services.
You'll create content and digital campaigns that support social and economic justice, engage communities, and contribute to meaningful policy change.
Who we are
The South Australian Council of Social Service (SACOSS) is the independent peak body for the non-government health and community services sector in South Australia.
For almost 80 years, we've been a leading voice on issues of poverty, inequality and injustice.
We work alongside community organisations, policymakers and people with lived experience to advocate for lasting change and stronger communities.
We're a small team with a big impact—collaborative, values-driven and committed to making South Australia fairer for everyone.
About the role
Reporting to the Communications Manager, you'll play a key role in planning and delivering digital communications that support SACOSS's advocacy and policy priorities.
You'll take complex social policy issues and turn them into compelling stories, accessible content and engaging campaigns that inspire action.
Key responsibilities include:
Supporting the development and delivery of advocacy and campaigning activities
Planning, creating and publishing campaign content across digital channels
Managing SACOSS's social media platforms, website and email communications
Tracking campaign and digital performance and reporting on outcomes
Supporting campaign events and key advocacy moments
Working collaboratively with colleagues, members and people with lived experience to amplify diverse voices
Contributing to fresh ideas and continuous improvement across SACOSS communications
About you
You're a skilled digital communicator who understands how to connect with audiences and motivate action.
You're equally comfortable developing campaign ideas, crafting engaging content and managing day-to-day digital channels.
Most importantly, you're excited by the opportunity to use your communication skills to contribute to social justice outcomes and meaningful change.
Experience in digital communications, campaigning or advocacy communications
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
Experience creating content across social media, websites and email platforms
Solid skills using digital content and design tools such as Canva, Adobe Creative Suite and Hootsuite
The ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
Strong relationship-building and stakeholder engagement skills
An understanding of, or genuine interest in, social justice and public policy issues affecting South Australians
A commitment to the values and mission of SACOSS
Why join SACOSS?
Help shape campaigns that contribute to real policy and social change
Work across a diverse range of social justice issues
Join a respected organisation with a long history of advocacy and influence
Be part of a supportive, passionate and purpose-driven team
Enjoy the flexibility of a 0.8 FTE role
