WSLHD - Advanced Trainee - Emergency Medicine - Auburn Hospital.
This position is temporary until end of **** Clinical Year.
The primary purpose of the Advance Trainee (AT) in the Emergency Department
To provide clinical care, under appropriate supervision, to patients requiring emergency medical services in a complex clinical setting.
This includes both Adult and Paediatric patients.
The position will provide experience in a critical care setting and have responsibilities and opportunities for autonomous practice commensurate with the level of experience of the incumbent.
The Advanced Trainee is expected to function at a trainee level, supervise and also participate in teaching Junior Medical Officers and Medical Students, and take part in research where appropriate.
Qualifications
MBBS or equivalent, currently registered or eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia in an appropriate registration category.




Must have completed at least four postgraduate years training including a minimum 12 months full time Emergency Medicine experience in an Australian Public Hospital or equivalent (not as an Observer).
Registered or eligible for registration with the Australian College of Emergency Medicine.
Demonstrated ability to work independently in a supervised environment with commitment to self-education and continuous career development.
Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team with an understanding of the roles of the doctor and other members of the healthcare team.
Ability and willingness to work at the facilities within the Network to deliver patient care and readiness and ability to participate in 24‐hour shift work roster.
Excellent organisational and time management skills and ability to manage competing priorities in a complex workplace.
Demonstrated commitment to quality improvement, patient safety and risk management.
