Part-Time (12 hrs/wk, growing to 20hrs ) | Monday to Thursday | Office Based – Neerabup (plenty of parking)
Have you ever looked at something and thought, "That doesn't seem right"?
And instead of accepting it, did you read the employment contract, check the ATO website, look up the Award — and keep digging until you understood the answer?
If that sounds like you, we'd love to meet you.
At SF Accounting, bookkeeping is much more than entering transactions.
Our clients rely on us to understand their businesses, solve problems and keep them compliant.
That means asking questions, researching legislation and understanding why something is done — not simply processing what's in front of us.
Who we are
SF Accounting is a bookkeeping practice in Neerabup led by a Chartered Accountant, serving a genuinely varied client base.
One week you might be untangling a complex payroll issue; the next, reconciling a balance sheet that's never been reviewed, researching a GST question, or helping a client improve their systems.
You'll never be bored.
Our standard is straightforward: we don't guess.
When something's unfamiliar or the rules have changed, we research it, confirm it, and then act.
One of our favourite sayings in the office is "Don't assume", we'd much rather you spend ten minutes confirming the right answer than confidently give the wrong one.
How we work
Everyone works together in the office, Monday to Thursday.
You'll get full handovers on your clients so you can manage your own workload — but you're never on your own.
Questions aren't a weakness here; they're how the whole team gets sharper.
Nobody in this office pretends to know everything, including the boss.
We're a small team who actually like each other.

There's cake on birthdays, laughter most days, and when someone's snowed under, the rest of us pitch in without being asked.
We work hard — BAS deadlines don't move — but we've built a place we're happy to walk into on a Monday, and we intend to keep it that way.
The Type of Person who Thrives Here:
We're looking for someone with solid bookkeeping and payroll experience who can confidently manage their own clients with minimal supervision.
You'll already have strong Xero skills and understand the fundamentals of bookkeeping, payroll, GST and reconciliations.
More importantly, you're someone who naturally questions things that don't look right.
You don't simply process transactions—you investigate, research and come back with recommendations.
Experience with payroll, Award interpretation, GST, balance sheet reconciliations and monthly workpapers will be highly regarded.
If you've worked with not-for-profit organisations, NDIS providers or import/export businesses, that's a bonus—but it's your mindset that matters most.
We can continue to build your technical knowledge.
What we can't teach is curiosity, initiative, critical thinking and the willingness to keep learni
How to apply
Please don't send us a generic cover letter.
We'd love to learn a little about you and why this role interests you.
In your cover letter, please answer this question:
Tell us about a time you found something wrong that someone else had already signed off.
What made you question it, how did you investigate it, and what happened next?
There are no perfect answers.
We're interested in how you think, how you solve problems and how you approach your work.
No recruiters or offshore providers, please.
