Our mission is to give our all for health and community care, with our clients at the forefront of all that we do, enhancing their lives and assisting them to achieve their goals and improve their well-being.
We recognise that our greatest contribution to enhancing the lives of our clients is the investment in talented, caring, and passionate people.
Our clients include service recipients of the NDIS, Lifetime Support Authority, Support at Home, and private services, and therapists are encouraged to build a caseload that suits their interests and areas of strength
Occupational Therapists are critical to the Allied Health services we provide here at HenderCare and we currently have an opportunity for an experienced, motivated and client-centred Occupational Therapist to join our team.
We are looking for someone who can bring initiative, clinical guidance, and new ideas to our team.
The ideal candidate will bring advanced clinical experience across a broad range of client needs and therapeutic approaches, including trauma-informed practice, assistive technology prescription, home modifications, and functional needs assessments.
As a senior clinician, you will provide high-quality, evidence-informed therapeutic care while contributing clinical leadership, supervision, and guidance to support best practice and positive outcomes for clients.
Take your next step with HenderCare.
About the Role
As a Senior Occupational Therapist, you will provide advanced, evidence-based clinical care to clients across the lifespan, using strong clinical reasoning to support meaningful participation, functional independence, safety, and quality of life.
Working with clients in their own homes and community environments, you will provide expert assessment, recommendations, and intervention across assistive technology, home modifications, functional capacity, and activities of daily living, while contributing senior clinical guidance within the broader Allied Health team.
To be successful in this senior role, you will demonstrate the ability to:
Independently manage and prioritise a complex clinical caseload, applying advanced clinical reasoning and maintaining high standards of safe, ethical, and evidence-informed practice.
Lead comprehensive functional capacity and needs assessments, developing clear, practical, and defensible recommendations that enhance client function, safety,

independence, and participation in daily life.
Provide clinical leadership within multidisciplinary teams, working collaboratively with clients, families, health professionals, support coordinators, and service providers to support integrated and person-centred care.
Apply advanced knowledge in assistive technology and home modifications to assess, prescribe, justify, and review supports that enable people with disability and older people to safely engage in meaningful daily occupations.
Support high-quality service delivery by responding to referrals in a timely manner, maintaining accurate and compliant documentation, and contributing to service targets, clinical governance, and organisational standards.
Contribute to supervision, mentoring, quality improvement initiatives, service development projects, and continuous improvement activities that strengthen clinical practice and client outcomes.
Our Ideal Candidate

Demonstrated experience working in paediatrics or adults-focused therapeutic care with significant experience within the NDIS.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.

Evidence of mentoring, team leading, or supervising staff is advantageous but not essential.
You will also need/be willing to obtain:
