About the role
We are seeking aLiquor Retail Assistantto join our team at our Yass NSW location on a 38 hour P.W.full-time basis.
This is a key front-line position where you will be instrumental in delivering exceptional customer service whilst maintaining our store to the highest standards.
As a Liquor Retail Assistant, you will support the smooth operation of our retail environment, helping customers navigate our product range and ensuring compliance with relevant liquor regulations.
This role is essential to creating a positive shopping experience and building customer loyalty.
Key responsibilities
Providing friendly and knowledgeable customer service to all shoppers, offering product recommendations and assistance
Processing transactions accurately using the point-of-sale system and handling cash and card payments responsibly
Checking customer identification where required and ensuring compliance with liquor licensing laws and age verification regulations
Restocking shelves and maintaining an organised, clean and visually appealing store environment
Receiving and unpacking stock deliveries, checking for accuracy and damage
Maintaining knowledge of current product lines, pricing and promotions to assist customers effectively
Assisting with inventory management and stocktaking activities as required




Operating the till and managing the cash register with accuracy and integrity
Supporting the store manager and fellow staff members with additional tasks to ensure smooth store operations
What we're looking for
Proven experience in a retail setting, preferably within the liquor or hospitality sector
Strong customer service skills with the ability to engage positively with diverse customers
Knowledge of responsible service of alcohol practices and familiarity with relevant liquor licensing requirements
Proficiency in using point-of-sale systems and basic computer literacy
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Physical ability to lift, carry and stock items regularly throughout the shift
Reliability, punctuality and a strong work ethic
Ability to work effectively as part of a team and take direction from management
Willingness to learn about products and develop product knowledge
A current RSA (Responsible Service of Alcohol) certificate
Attention to detail and accuracy when handling transactions and stock
Available for weekend and Public holiday shifts
