About the role
YLZ Truck Bodies is seeking aTrades Assistantto join our team in Pakenham, Victoria.
This is afull-time positionoffering an excellent opportunity to develop practical skills in the automotive trades sector whilst supporting our experienced tradespeople.
You will be working on-site in our Pakenham facility, gaining hands-on experience in truck body manufacturing, assembly, and maintenance.
This role is ideal for someone looking to build a rewarding career in the automotive trades industry.
Key responsibilities
Assisting qualified tradespeople with truck body manufacturing, fabrication, and assembly tasks
Preparing materials, tools, and work areas to ensure efficient workflow and compliance with safety standards
Performing general maintenance and cleaning of equipment and facilities
Learning and applying safe working practices in line with health and safety regulations
Supporting the installation and repair of truck body components and systems
Assisting with quality checks and inspections under supervision
Maintaining accurate records of work completed and materials used
Contributing to a positive and collaborative team workplace
What we're looking for
A keen interest in the automotive trades and a willingness to learn new skills
Physical fitness and ability to perform manual tasks safely and effectively
A valid driver's licence (desirable but not essential)
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
Reliable, punctual, and professional attitude with good communication skills
Ability to work effectively as part of a team and take direction from supervisors
Basic literacy and numeracy skills
Willingness to complete relevant training and certifications as required
A genuine passion for working in the trades sector
