As our College continues to grow, we are excited to introduce the newly created position of Head of High Potential and Gifted Learning (Prep to Year 12).
This is an exciting prospect for an experienced educational leader to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of gifted learning at Trinity Lutheran College, establishing systems, practices and opportunities that will have a lasting impact on students and staff across the College.
We are looking for an educational leader who approaches their work with curiosity and creativity, demonstrates compassion and care for others, brings purpose and initiative to their role, and builds authentic relationships where every member of our community feels they belong.
About the Role
Reporting to the Deputy Principal and working across both our Junior Years and Middle & Senior Years campuses, this leadership position provides strategic leadership for High Potential and Gifted Learning across the College.
Working collaboratively with teachers, curriculum leaders and wellbeing teams, you will strengthen teaching practice, build staff capability and ensure students with high potential, giftedness and advanced learning needs are identified, challenged and supported to flourish academically, socially and emotionally.




The successful applicant will establish a consistent Prep to Year 12 approach to High Potential and Gifted Learning, influencing contemporary teaching practice, strengthening extension and enrichment opportunities, and creating meaningful learning pathways for students.
You are a collaborative educational leader who believes every learner deserves to be challenged to reach their potential, with a strong commitment to evidence-informed practice, you enjoy strengthening teaching, building the capability of others and creating meaningful learning opportunities for students with high potential.
You will demonstrate the ability to:
Provide strategic leadership that strengthens teaching, learning and student outcomes across a Prep to Year 12 College.
Lead the development and implementation of the College-wide High Potential and Gifted Learning framework, promoting excellence, inclusion and continuous improvement.
Use student achievement, engagement and wellbeing data to inform decision making and continuous improvement.
Build teacher capability through coaching, collaboration and professional learning that strengthens differentiation, challenge and extension across classrooms.
Recognise and respond to the academic, social and emotional needs of gifted learners, ensuring they are appropriately identified, challenged and supported to flourish.
Build authentic partnerships with staff, students, families and external organisations to broaden learning opportunities and strengthen outcomes for learners.




Actively support the Christian ethos and values of Trinity Lutheran College through your everyday interactions and skilled practice.

Desired Skills and Experience
Current Queensland College of Teachers (QCT) registration.
Commitment to supporting the Christian ethos and values of Trinity Lutheran College and Lutheran education.
Demonstrated expertise in High Potential and Gifted Learning, including contemporary theory, identification practices and talent development frameworks.
Postgraduate qualifications in Gifted Education, Inclusive Education, Educational Leadership or a related discipline (highly regarded).
Experience interpreting cognitive assessment data to inform identification, programming and support for high potential learners (highly regarded).
