About us:
The Mental Health and Alcohol and Other Drugs (AOD) Service is responsible for delivering Mental Health and AOD services throughout the Cairns and Hinterland Hospital and Health Service and for supporting other mental health and AOD services in the surrounding Hospital and Health Services of Cape York, Torres Strait Northern Peninsula Area.
Its primary objective is to ensure access to a comprehensive range of treatment and support services, clinical treatment, rehabilitation, disability support, as well as early intervention, and mental health prevention and promotion.

About your role:
In this position you will....
.
Provide expert guidance, leadership and advice to all directorates of the CHHHS in relation to NDIS processes, NDIA and community disability networks and length of stay issues as impacted by complex needs, and provide independent, high level, specialist clinical Mental Health Occupational Therapy case management and consultancy as required.




Facilitate clinical and systemic escalations within a patient safety and clinical governance framework and ensure timely and effective solutions are addressed.
Lead professional, patient safety and service improvement activities in the area of NDIS practice and initiatives including the development and evaluation of CHHHS policy, procedures, guidelines and training / education initiatives including oversight of statewide clinical standards for best practice.
