About the Role
We are seeking compassionate and experienced Disability Support Workers for a part-time permanent position to provide exceptional in-home care to our clients in southern Adelaide, particularly those with mental health conditions.
As a Disability Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with disabilities, including psychosocial disabilities, to achieve their NDIS goals, maintain independence, and engage in their communities.
Key Responsibilities
Provide person-centered support in clients' homes, including assistance with daily living activities (e.g., personal care, meal preparation, household tasks).
Support clients with mental health conditions to achieve their NDIS goals, such as emotional regulation, social participation, and community engagement.
Implement strategies to support mental health and wellbeing, including de-escalation techniques and crisis intervention when required.
Foster positive relationships with clients, their families, and support networks.
Maintain accurate documentation and progress notes in line with NDIS standards.
Promote independence, dignity, and respect in all interactions.
Adhere to health and safety protocols, including manual handling and infection control.
What We're Looking For
Essential Qualifications and Skills:
Certificate III in Individual Support, Disability,



Mental Health, or equivalent (or currently studying).
Minimum 1-2 years' experience.
Current NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willingness to obtain).
Valid South Australian Driver's License and reliable vehicle.
Current First Aid and CPR certificates.
Strong communication, empathy, and interpersonal skills.
Understanding of NDIS principles, including person-centered care and choice and control.
Desirable:
Training or experience in mental health support, such as Mental Health First Aid, trauma-informed care, or crisis intervention.
Knowledge of the southern Adelaide community and local mental health resources.
Experience with manual handling and supporting clients with mobility needs.
Ability to work with diverse client groups, including those with physical, intellectual, or psychosocial disabilities.
