About the role
Draper's Civil Contracting is seeking an experienced Excavator Operator to join our team in Breakwater, Victoria.
This full-time position is a crucial role with our construction teams, responsible for efficiently and safely operating excavators from 5tonne up to 49tonne to support our civil engineering projects.
What you'll be doing
Operate excavator to perform all forms of civil construction excavating tasks
Follow construction plans and specifications to complete excavation work to required standards
Conduct routine maintenance including pre-start inspections on equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety
Work collaboratively with the wider construction team to coordinate activities and meet project deadlines
Adhere to all health, safety, and environmental regulations and hazards on site
What we're looking for
Proven experience as an Excavator Operator within the civil construction industry, ideally with GPS
Proficient in operating excavators around live assets and other heavy machinery
Ability to read and interpret construction plans and work to specifications
Knowledge of deep trench awareness and safety protocols an advantage
Excellent safety awareness, reliability and commitment to safe work practices
Effective communication, a positive attitude and committed teamwork skills
Current High-Risk Work Licence (Excavator) and Heavy Combination Truck Licence an advantage
