About Opportunity
Lead two high-impact clinical service streams and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of specialist mental health care across the district.
As the Service Manager – Consultation Liaison & MHSUS, you'll provide strategic and operational leadership for two well-established, high-performing services: Consultation Liaison across four hospital sites (John Hunter Hospital, Maitland Hospital, Belmont Hospital and Taree Hospital) and Mental Health Services for Older People (MHSUS) based at the Mater.
This is a career-defining leadership opportunity where you'll influence service delivery, drive innovation, and support exceptional patient outcomes.
You'll oversee all aspects of service operations, including budget and performance management, workforce planning, recruitment and retention, resource allocation, quality and safety, service development, and continuous improvement.You'll be joining a highly experienced team of senior clinicians delivering specialist outpatient, ambulatory and inpatient consultation services.
Working in close partnership with two dedicated Clinical Directors—one for each clinical stream—you'll help shape service strategy while ensuring operational excellence.
Success in this role is backed by a strong and collaborative leadership network.
You'll be supported by the Clinical Directors, an experienced Service Manager cohort, the Operations Manager for Mental Health,
and the broader Mental Health Executive Leadership Team.

Essential Requirements
Tertiary qualifications in a health-related discipline and registration or eligibility for registration (where applicable) with relevant professional registration body and/or membership of the relevant professional organisation or extensive work experience deemed equivalent by the employer.
Eligible to drive in NSW and willingness to travel across sites.
