As we continue our journey to become Australia's leanest residential construction company, we are seeking an exceptional Construction Manager to lead our construction operations and help drive the next phase of improvement across the business.
This opportunity has arisen following the retirement of our long-serving Construction Manager after more than 21 years in the role.

The Prospect
Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you will lead a substantial operational team responsible for delivering homes safely, efficiently, profitably and to the highest standards of quality.
You will play a key leadership role in helping the business achieve its vision of becoming Australia's benchmark residential construction operation through the application of Lean principles, standardisation, operational excellence and continuous improvement.
Working closely with our excellent team of supervisors and senior managers,



you will drive performance across every aspect of construction operations.
Your focus will include:
Improving build times
Increasing productivity
Reducing waste
Eliminating defects
Strengthening planning and workflow
Developing people and future leaders
Improving customer outcomes
Driving operational excellence across the business
About You
You are a highly capable operational leader with a proven track record of leading large teams and delivering measurable improvements in performance.
You are commercially minded, respected by your peers, and capable of balancing strategic thinking with hands-on execution.
You may come from:
Residential construction
Commercial construction
Manufacturing
Logistics
Production environments
Supply chain operations
Other large-scale operational businesses
What matters most is your ability to:
Lead and inspire people
Build high-performing teams

Experience in construction, manufacturing, logistics, production systems, Lean
environments, operational excellence or continuous improvement disciplines will be highly regarded
Most importantly, you are a leader who enjoys being close to the work, developing people, solving problems and improving systems.
Key Responsibilities
Lead all construction operations across a large-scale residential building business
Improve productivity,



throughput and build times
Drive quality improvement and defect reduction initiatives
Strengthen planning, scheduling and workflow management
Develop supervisors, construction leaders and operational teams
Establish and maintain standard operating procedures and best-practice systems
Identify operational constraints and implement solutions
Improve communication, accountability and performance management
Foster a culture of ownership, teamwork and continuous improvement
Support the ongoing development of the Hickinbotham Production System
