Applications are invited for a full-time or part-time Laboratory Scientist to join our team at Kawana.
This role provides the opportunity to work in a busy, multidisciplinary diagnostic laboratory, supporting the delivery of accurate and timely results that directly contribute to patient care.
The successful applicant will be required to work all shifts between ********* Monday-Friday and ********* Saturday/Sunday and Public Holidays.
Shifts rotate regularly across weekday, weekends and public holidays.
Key Responsibilities
Perform routine and specialised diagnostic testing across Haematology, Biochemistry, Blood Banking, STAT Microbiology, and Molecular Pathology
Run, monitor, and interpret quality control (QC) and quality assurance (QA) procedures
Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment
Analyse, interpret, and report results in line with laboratory and accreditation standards
Comply with WHS policies and procedures at all times
Assist with inventory control and stock management

To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate the following:
A degree in Medical Laboratory Science (or equivalent)
Experience in a multidisciplinary laboratory is desirable; however, recent graduates are encouraged to apply, with comprehensive on-the-job training provided
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision,



while contributing effectively within a team environment
Strong communication and organisational skills
A high level of commitment to accuracy, quality standards, and laboratory turnaround times
