Manager, Commercial Business
This is an exciting opportunity to lead a high-performing commercial business development team, and drive sustainable business growth across TAFE Queensland's Gold Coast region.
In this strategic and client-focused role, you will identify and drive profitable commercial opportunities, build strong industry partnerships, and deliver innovative sales strategies that deliver value to our clients and our region.
This position reports to the General Manager, Gold Coast.
This is a 6 month fixed-term, temporary AO7 position, primarily based at our Ashmore campus with travel across the Gold Coast region's campuses required.
Key Responsibilities
Develop, lead and manage a cohesive, goal focused Sales Team to achieve the region's revenue targets and work unit objectives.
Develop and implement the performance development frameworks for a team of salespeople embedded in the region's educational Faculties
Proactively identify, negotiate and secure business opportunities with external clients which are commercially viable, resulting in profitable and sustainable revenue to the region.
Develop and maintain effective business relationships and a complex client and industry base and act as the point of contact for commercial opportunities for regional educational Faculties.
Work closely with the Director, Business Development to contribute to the development of sales strategies for the Sales team for new and repeat commercial business.
Lead their implementation.
Liaise and collaborate with key internal stakeholders to communicate and implement commercial training opportunities.
Continuously promote new ways of improving efficiency by reducing cost and enhancing outcomes.
Provide leadership on individual and team performance and future goals.
Manage communication and actively engage with industry, business and the community.

How You Will Be Assessed
Within the context of the key responsibilities above, the ideal applicant will demonstrate the following key capabilities:
Demonstrated ability to identify, negotiate and finalise commercial sales opportunities and manage a client base which has led to increased revenue and positive client relationships.
Demonstrated success in managing a team to achieve business unit operational goals and organisational revenue targets.
This includes writing operational sales plans and business proposals and ensuring their implementation/achievement.
High level cooperative and consultative interpersonal and written communication skills with demonstrated liaison, networking and negotiation skills to represent the region in a professional manner, which results in beneficial outcomes for all parties.
Demonstrated skills and experience in tender proposal management including the planning, writing, review and delivery of proposals.
Encourages creativity, innovation and entrepreneurship with the initiative, attitude and ability to thrive within a dynamic, challenging and changing environment.
Mandatory Qualifications & Requirements
This position does not have any mandatory qualifications of requirements, however knowledge of TAFE Queensland's commercial and business development activities and experience leading in a strategic, growth-focused environment, will be highly regarded.
