The Opportunity
We are expanding our Speech Pathology network and are seeking experienced, independently practising Speech Pathologists to provide high-quality services to NDIS participants across Australia.
We are looking for clinicians who are confident managing their own caseload, providing evidence-based assessment and intervention, and delivering high-quality clinical documentation in accordance with NDIS requirements and Speech Pathology Australia professional standards.
This isnota graduate, new graduate or supervised position.
Applicants must be capable of practising independently without ongoing clinical supervision or mentoring.
About the Role
As an Independent Contractor, you may provide services including:
Comprehensive speech, language and communication assessments
Functional communication assessments
Comprehensive speech pathology reports
NDIS progress reports
NDIS review reports
Functional Capacity Assessment contributions where applicable
Speech sound disorder assessment and intervention
Receptive and expressive language intervention
Social communication intervention
Autism assessment support and intervention
Early childhood communication intervention
Literacy support where appropriate
AAC (Augmentative and Alternative Communication) assessment and implementation
Mealtime management and dysphagia services (within your competency)
Parent and caregiver coaching
School and preschool consultation
Capacity building for families, educators and support teams
Collaboration with Behaviour Support Practitioners, Occupational Therapists, Psychologists, Exercise Physiologists, Support Coordinators and other stakeholders
NDIS-compliant documentation and clinical record keeping
Mandatory Requirements
Applicants must have:
Current registration with Speech Pathology Australia (Certified Practising Speech Pathologist preferred)
Relevant tertiary qualification in Speech Pathology
Minimum two (2) years' post-graduate clinical experience
Demonstrated experience managing an independent clinical caseload
Strong understanding of the NDIS Practice Standards and participant-centred service delivery
Experience writing high-quality NDIS reports and supporting funding reviews
Current NDIS Worker Screening Check
Current Working with Children Check (or equivalent for your State or Territory)
Current National Police Check
Current Australian Driver Licence
Access to a reliable motor vehicle (for community-based services)
Australian Business Number (ABN)
Professional Indemnity Insurance
Public Liability Insurance
Current First Aid and CPR Certification
Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Contractor Arrangement
This is a genuine independent contractor opportunity.
Rates commence from$***** per hour, with higher rates negotiated based on:
Years of Speech Pathology experience
Clinical expertise
Experience supporting complex participants
Experience with AAC
Experience with paediatric and adult caseloads
Experience with dysphagia and mealtime management
Capacity to independently manage complex referrals
Geographic service area
Availability
Contractors invoice via their ABN and are responsible for:
Taxation obligations
Superannuation
Professional indemnity and public liability insurance
Professional development
Annual registration fees
All business-related expenses

As this is an independent contractor role:
Clinical supervision isnotprovided.

Contractors are expected to practise autonomously.
Contractors must maintain all professional registrations, certifications and insurances.
Contractors must work strictly within their professional scope of practice and competency.
Contractors are responsible for maintaining accurate and compliant clinical documentation.
Contractors determine their own availability and may accept referrals based on their capacity.
Contractors must maintain all mandatory compliance requirements throughout the engagement.
